System and method for the acquisition, transmission and processing of
environmental data
Chemical and biological analyses on environmental samples are currently carried out in laboratories, and involve high costs, long timeframes, and the need for expert personnel – both for sampling and for the subsequent laboratory analyses. Furthermore, although there are field monitoring stations, it is difficult, both for economic and
logistical reasons, to have a truly informative sample encompassing several analytical points.
lightScience has applied to patent its system and method of acquisition, transmission and processing of data and portable environmental analysis, for chemical, physical and biological analyses of water, soil, and food.
Using near infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), through chemometric algorithms based on artificial intelligence, it is possible to obtain economic, simple, and precise environmental data through a single system, allowing remote processing of the data obtained by NIRS and its association to all other data relating to the place where the sample was taken. Finally, the system allows to create and update in real time geographic systems – e.g., hydrographic basins – by crossing the information collected in the field by drones and human personnel,
with satellite surveys.
This new patent application, together with applications 102021000012116 and 102021000012416, adds to the fundamentals assets that lightScience is building to protect its present and future technologies and IPs. Furthermore, it proves the continuous research and development activity that we are carrying out thanks to the great adaptability of the lightScience systems and technologies for many interesting application scenarios.
